if the world could fall apart
and leave nothing but our beating hearts
soft whispers of heaven
in a world of lost love within
errant acoustics
out stretched methods
seeking poignant coalescence
of stranded universe
that falls into another
like lofty linger or
a tremendous sputter
as we cry for some notion
of steadiness while wanting
to be some wild notion
of steadiness
and
your
entropy
the atrophy of
this call for
unison,
the rise of
our lowly substance
the unison of our weak tones
to some tremendous
affirmation
if our worlds could fall apart--
a cosmic blooming,
the fruition of energies pouring forth!--
we will rise, together,
exultant, heaven raised upon
our structures of
hearts, our steady rhythm,
to which we will bask in mystery
leaving our higher intentions
to need not wait for some next life but
in this one
heaven on earth,
the only noble cause!
heaven on earth
