sherlock sees

sherlock sees the thread
beaded by good will deeds

people with the 6am wake up:
(sherlock's got the 6am
stayup)
drill-time generals,
construction kings
making buildings as the
orange sherbert sky
fades away as the
sun rises

sherlock sees church bulletins
with antiphorisms meant to tease
and torment the pagan people:
"1. There is a God
2. You are not with Him"

sherlock sees traffic lights
and haults accordingly
brakes being a little
despondent, car goes
a little over that
pedestrian line

alright,
it is
all right
(it's gotta be)

drive past avenue L
sherlock can tell
wishing wells
give off a human spell

church goers need their god
and want you to
want their god
never mind the identity fraud
never mind the identity fraud

alright, though,
it's all right,
(it's gotta be)

stops at avenue k
sherlock drives straight
although the park is that other way
left turn passed--
sherlock don't feel like deducting any
more than he has to so
he just drives straight

it's all right,
it's all right

reaches home, has
the passing thought
that he isn't dead
and thoughtfully
thanks the powers
that appear to be,
sometimes, for
not killing him.

looks out and can make out the mountains between
two neighborhood houses, hears the gentle morning
greetings of birds he never saw before.
crosses his arms and leans against a street light,
looks up and down, all around, deducts nothing,
figures nothing, expounds nothing, rationalizes
nothing, draws no lines to other lines, gives up
on every relationship. sherlock hears the piano
keys playing in his mind and realizes that his
brain gives off a sound, too. tries to make
every mind mechanism clap to the outside
world, lifeless things colliding to make a
consciousness and

sherlock sees,
sherlock sees.

it doesnt take analysis, deductions, hypothesis, or belief to see.
