broken heart remark
every broken heart remark
comes at night fall
as lonely people stumble to their homes.
the women are wearing high heels,
yeah,
the men wanna know how their skin feels,
yeah.
every snicker snide stampede
takes heed to every nothing,
growling, grating, breathing,
hating. rolls off the tongue
and drills hatred holes in
city curbs
sigh to cool off
pause to take your aim,
lame brain universe never sang you
one sweet verse,
not one tonic tune,
not one bird's croon,
not one pleasant afternoon
nothing, you owe this life
nothing, owe your daddy
nothing, owe your momma
nothing, owe your lovers
nothing but gestures given
taken,
broken heart remark
explodes like cannon balls
from wartorn lips
and its a warzone on thoses
streets, people bouting pain's
feats and Satan's cheats
people prodding their own
bodies looking for bullet holes
to cover them up aptly
for their soul don't escape
but if it were to come out through anywhere
it'd have to be through mouths,
fogging up windows with a
widow's foghorn--
every broken heart remark
is still a heart unmourned,
call out to a ship sailed for
too long and your singing a torment's
song...
broken heart, it's time to
move along
